Fresh spots: wash the panel, then wipe with a 50/50 vinegar-and-water solution and rinse. Spots that survive that have etched into the clear coat and need polishing.
Fresh vs. etched spots
Spots from the last few days sit on the surface and come off with cleaning. Older spots have eaten into the clear coat, no cleaner will remove those.
Home removal steps
- Wash and dry the panel
- Wipe with diluted white vinegar on a microfiber
- Rinse and dry
- Re-wax the area
Etched spots
Etching needs machine polishing to level the surface, part of our water spot removal and paint correction services.
