Swirl marks are fine scratches in the clear coat, usually from improper washing. We remove them with machine polishing as part of our paint correction service.
How to tell you have swirls
Park in direct sunlight or shine a flashlight on the paint. If you see circular, spider-web scratches around the light's reflection, those are swirl marks. Dark colors show them the most.
How removal works
Polishing levels the clear coat around each scratch so light reflects evenly again. Light swirls may need a single polishing step; heavier marring may need multi-stage correction.
Scratches that polishing can't fix
If a scratch catches your fingernail, it may be through the clear coat. Polishing can often reduce how it looks, but we'll tell you honestly what to expect during your free estimate.
